From time to time we are advised of things which may help get people into employment. When we are made aware of such instances we will make theme available on this page.
Wheels to Work
Wheels to Work County Durham is here to help people take up and/or sustain employment, apprenticeship and training. For a modest weekly fee they can lend individuals a low mileage moped, give them brand new personal protective equipment, cover insurance, tax, MOT, breakdown & recovery, replace flat and worn tyres, cover servicing and most importantly provide them with the independence and ability to get to work under their own steam.
If you know someone who has a struggle to get to work, or who can’t get to work because shift patterns are incompatible with bus timetables please send them to Wheels for work.
Applicants must currently live in the following areas (this may be subject to change later this year):
- Bishop Auckland and Shildon
- Spennymoor
- Stanley
- Chester-le-Street
- 3 Towns Partnership (Crook, Willington and Tow Law)
- Mid Durham (Langley Moor, Lanchetser, Brandon, Esh Winning, etc)’ or
- East Durham Rural Corridor (Coxhoe, Trimdon, Sedgefield, Fishburn, Bowburn, etc)
Please get in touch for further information.
