The process of the development of the plan was set out on the previous page. The community agreed priorities were set out in an action plan which was agree at a Special Meeting of the Parish Council on 22nd February 2005. The Action Plan sets out clear proposals to address the specific priorities of the separate communities of Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill and issues would be tackled.
The Plan was a genuine attempt by the Parish Council and Working Groups from Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill to inspire the community. It was achieved through significant community engagement.
The plan was aspirational and ambitious but it was felt that most of its content could be achieved if the communities and agencies worked together through its course. The role of the Community Partnerships was considered crucial, particularly because the Partnerships could access funding that was not available to the local councils.
The key priorities within the Parish Plan, which represent the priorities of Coxhoe Parish Council, were as follows:
- Traffic and Road Safety
- Crime and Community Safety
- The Environment
- Housing
- Public Services
- Employment
- Education
- Health and Social Care
- Young People
- Community Information
- Sport and Leisure
Traffic and Road Safety were considered to be the highest priorities in both villages and work commenced immediately on addressing those issues. The full details of the Parish Plan Action Plan is available below:
