Would you like to find out more about Neighbourhood Planning and how you could be involved? A Neighbourhood Plan is a way of putting in place a vision and policies for the villages’ future development, and you can find out more at an online meeting on Monday 20 July 2020 at 6.00pm.
If you would like to attend, please email the Parish Clerk at clerk@coxhoeparishcouncil.gov.uk by 3.00pm on 20 July to ask for a link to join the meeting.
The Parish Council would like to see a Neighbourhood Plan in Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill. A Plan can help the community develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood. It can guide the location, scale and type of new development through land allocation and identifying settlement boundaries, and can protect important local green spaces. This is a significant opportunity to shape the future of your village and Parish Councillors want residents to be as involved as possible.
This meeting will be to explain a little more about the process and to start to find out more about the community’s interest in it. We will support a group of people to work on the plan and would like all those interested from Quarrington Hill and Coxhoe to be involved. The group will begin by defining the neighbourhoods and identifying the aims and objectives of the plan. It will go on to put together information about our villages and carry out community consultation, and then to develop and draft the plan. The plan has to be approved by a referendum before it is adopted and the County Council will offer support throughout.
This sounds like a lot to do but it’s a great opportunity to be involved in the future development of your village. We’re sorry we can’t hold an event at the moment and offer everyone a cup of tea, but we hope to see you on Monday 20 July to find out more. Taking part in this meeting doesn’t commit you to anything and you will be made welcome. Please email the Parish Clerk Claire Llewelyn on clerk@coxhoeparishcouncil.gov.uk for any further information or to request a link to the meeting.
