Coxhoe Parish Council renewed its Social Media Policy earlier this year.
The Parish Council engages in its social media through facebook and twitter because it wishes to be open and communicate what is happening in the delivery of its services. It allows everyone to have their say on social media but it expects that people ought to be civil and respect the nature of the pages. We want to encourage people to have a point of view but we expect that those points of view should be free of abuse, personal attacks on any individuals or groups or foul language. We have, and will, delete posts on our site which we feel do not comply with the spirit of our pages and our Social Media Policy. Indeed we will block people from using our pages for significant abuse of them.
Our facebook and twitter pages are not manned 24/7 and are largely administered by a volunteer. While we encourage community discussion on our pages and refect on views made, we are unable to treat comments made as service requests. If you have an issue to raise or report you ought to contact us by email, in writing or telephone not by leaving a comment or message on our pages.
