The Parish Council has been involved in a whole range of issues concerning Quarrington Hill and Coxhoe which affect us all.  The Council currently costs each household £14.18 for a Band A or £21.27 for a Band D house per year.

maintaining the churchyards at Quarrington Hill and Coxhoe and funding improvements to both
providing allotments at various sites in both villages.
commenting on planning applications to the Planning Authority to ensure that they are in line with community interests expressed in the village plan.
the provision of annual grants to help with the running costs of Coxhoe Village Hall and Quarrington Hill Community Centre to help provide facilities for you.
the provision of a Parish Council Website, and funding for the ‘Quarrington Hill Village News’ and ‘Coxhoe Chronicles’ to keep you informed of what is happening in your community.

The main success has been the completion of Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill Village Appraisals allowing you to have your say and set the priorities for our villages. Thank you to the significant number of you that responded.  Parish Councillors worked with members of the community to develop the Parish Action Plan and copies were delivered to every household in the Parish.  An important consequence of this work has been the formation of residents groups in both villages – Quarrington Hill Village Partnership and Coxhoe Together.  The Parish Council looks forward to work in partnership with them in the future.

The Parish Plan has been of major importance in:
the development of plans and securing funding from Durham County Council Local Area Programme 2 through the Durham City Local Strategic Partnership for Traffic Calming measures in Coxhoe and Quarrington Hill.  The Parish Council have committed substantial funding to these schemes which were designed in consultation with the Parish Plan Working Group and displayed at public exhibitions.
Inspiring partnership work between the Parish Council and Quarrington Hill Village Partnership to improve the environment and facilities at Quarrington Hill
Inspiring partnership work between the Parish Council and Coxhoe Together in the design of improvements to the streetscape.
Bringing together other agencies to support the priorities of both villages.
Your Parish Council has worked well with the two communities it represents
and will continue to do so in the future.
